Obituary of Ronald Nisbett
Ronald David Nisbett, 75, of Boise, passed away in Boise November 7, 2013 of natural causes.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday November 14, 2013, at El Korah Shrine Temple, 1118 W Idaho St, Boise.
Ron was born May 16, 1938 in Boise Idaho, son of Ralph and Thelma Nisbett. He was Commander of his ROTC unit and graduated from Boise High School in 1957. He was inducted into the Air Force the same year. He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base and served honorably until 1961.
Ron married Melvilyn (Mel) Singley in 1961. Together they had three daughters, Cyndi (Blackstone), Heather (Loewenstein) and Angie Nisbett, and seven grandchildren. He worked for Hood Corporation laying gas pipelines and fiber optics across the United States and retired after thirty-eight years in 1999.
He was active in the Masonic family; a member of the Masonic Lodge #1 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and El Korah Shrine Temple. He was a Past Associate Grand Guardian of Jobs Daughters, State of Idaho, Past Associate Guardian of Bethel #52 Jobs Daughters, and a recipient of The Legion of Honor in DeMolay. His years of service and involvement in the Shrine Temple included Past President of the Players Unit and serving as Potentate of El Korah Shrine in 2000. He was a representative to the Shrine Hospital in Portland Oregon and also served on its Board of Directors. He worked tirelessly to initiate the El Korah Endowment Fund to support the temple and the patient travel fund.
In later years he enjoyed a rousing game of golf, close friends and interacting with his seven grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mel, his brother, Bob, and all of his daughters: Cyndi and husband Eric Blackstone, Heather and husband Lance Loewenstein and Angie Nisbett. Also his grandchildren: Krystl Nelson, Arden Blackstone, Kyle Nelson, Trace Blackstone, Kevan Nelson, Bryce Loewenstein and Terran Blackstone.
He will be remembered as one who loved life, gave of himself endlessly and generously and taught his children well. Fly with the eagles.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the El Korah Shrine Temple Endowment Fund or a charity of your choice.
