Obituary of Patricia Marie Aschenbrenner

Pat was born on March 4, 1943 in Chicago Illinois. Pat embraced life, its' challenges and opportunities; Pat endured and proudly survived. She had a great respect for life. All who knew her could sense a certain grace & dignity. Pat was fun-loving and loved to laugh. On July 3, 1978 Pat & her children arrived in Idaho. She truly felt she "came to where she was supposed to be!" Idaho was always home. A lover of old homes, Old Town, Pocatello became home. Her gardens, always memorable, had been a source of joy and comfort for Pat. Pat was a voracious reader, Classical music was her passion, and she was creative in the arts. Pat was an Optician, by profession. She retired in 1986. She was a member of several local community organizations over the years, and a true advocate of C. W. Hog. (Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group) Pat enjoyed her many friends. Interestingly, they are/were of all ages, walks of life, and from all over the world. To quote Pat, "Nothing complements life more than friends." When Pat called you "Friend", you knew you were blessed for life! Pat relished in the goodness of the human sprit. Nature was her church. Her son, Greg, was the light of her life. Her husband, Paul, was the love of her life. May her spirit soar as she joins those who had gone before her. "Happy Trails to you, until we meet again." Pat died January 15, 2018 from complications caused by vasculitis from which she had suffered over many years. In lieu of cut flowers, Pat wished that a plant be planted in her memory or donations to C.W. Hog or Idaho PTV or B.S.U. radio. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Boise Train Depot at 1:30PM.
