Obituary of Amil Myshin

Amil N. Myshin died on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society-Boise Village. Amil was born in N. Charleroi, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1946. He graduated with a B.A. degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania in 1968. He graduated from The George Washington University Law Center, Washington, D.C. in June 1971 with a J.D. He was admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976 and the U. S. Circuit of Appeals in 1977 and 1978. In 2001, Amil received the Idaho State Bar Professionalism Award. In 2002, he received the Nevin Professionalism Award presented by the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Amil was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in March of 2010. Early in his law career, Amil practiced law in the State of Virginia. In 1977, Amil moved to Boise and held positions such as Director of Litigation and Training for Legal Aid Services and worked in private practice, joining the ADA County Public Defenders office in 1985. In July 2011, Amil retired as a Senior Trial Attorney. Amil was an avid wildlife photographer. He also enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, and hiking in the foothills of Idaho. Amil's pride and joy was his sons, Morgan, Andrew, and Michael. He loved volunteering as a baseball umpire during the years when Andrew and Michael played baseball. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Amil Myshin. Survivors include sons, Morgan Myshin of California, Andrew Myshin and Michael Myshin of Boise; sisters, Elizabeth Myshin and Carol Sadowski, and nephews, Joseph, William and Kevin, and their families. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W. Bannock, Boise. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 W. Dorman Street, Boise, ID 83705.
