Obituary of David Arredondo

David P. Arredondo David P. Arredondo passed away on December 12, 2011 peacefully in his sleep after a four year illness. David was born on June 12, 1950 in Los Angeles, California, the only son of Estelle Arredondo. He was raised in Whittier, California and active in many sports as a child—sports were his life! After graduating from Monte Vista High School, he attended Rio Hondo College. David then got a calling and enlisted in the Marine Corp, where he served as a military policeman in Concord, California. In 1978, David married Diana Rodriguez and together they had three sons, Joshua, Jacob and Jordan. The family moved to Boise in 1983, where David lived the remainder of his life. David's career path encompassed anything related to construction and masonry. His passion was building and would often take whoever was available on driving tours of his projects! David was very involved in his sons' youth athletics, including Optimist Football, Little League and other local baseball leagues. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed any sport he could participate in with his three sons. David was an amazing father, a loving brother, and grandfather and a loyal friend with an unmatched sense of humor. He loved to live life to the fullest. David is survived by his three sons, Joshua, Jacob and Jordan; his daughter-in-law, Evona; granddaughter, Jazmyn; sister and brother in law, Alicia and Vance Mape; and nieces Kristen Weirick and Kimberly Doherty. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. In the words of his granddaughter, Jazmyn, "I love you Papa and will miss you!". Inurnment will be Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, with memorial services following at 11:30 a.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W. Bannock Street, Boise.
