Obituary of Robert Moon

Robert "Paul" Moon 1933 ~ 2012 R. "Paul" Moon, 78, of Boise, passed away on April 20, 2012 in a local hospital from complications of a fall. Paul was born in Caldwell, ID on December 6, 1933 to Silas "Ray" and Eva Hoadley Moon. He was the youngest of four children. He attended Caldwell schools where he participated in many sports. He married Charlotte Davis October 21, 1952 while working for Idaho Power Company. He then went to work in the farming industry on Sunny Slope. After that he was employed by Harris Brothers Lumber Mill in Boise where he continued to work after moving to Boise in 1958. In 1962, he went to work for Yankee Machine Shop for 38 years retiring as Repair Shop Foreman on January 1, 2000. He was member of the Oriental Lodge #60, A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies, and the El Korah Shrine Temple in which he served a term as the Potentate's Aide and was an active member of the Provost Guard Unit. He thoroughly enjoyed their cabin in Terrace Lakes, Garden Valley, spending time golfing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He also cherished the time he spent with his grandsons on weekends at the cabin. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years; his daughter, Stace (Ed) Summers of Boise; grandsons, Jordan (Kara) Mardis of Boise, Loren Mardis of Helena, MT, Sam (Leena) Mardis of Seattle, WA, and David (Stephanie) Summers of Boise; six great grandchildren; brother, Carroll Moon and sister, Freida Armstrong both of Caldwell; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Victoria (Lon) Mardis; sister, Edith (Gene) Hagler; and parents. Services will be held at Summers Funeral Homes, 1205 W. Bannock Street, Boise on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, Id. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
