Obituary of Lois Bell

Lois S. Bell, 87, of Kuna, passed peacefully Sunday, August 18, 2013 with her daughter, Kathleen, by her side. Lois requested no formal funeral services be held. Lois said, "I want people to remember me just the way I was and to tell favorite stories about me to others who knew me". A family graveside service will be held in Gooding at a later date. Lois was born January 15, 1926 in Gooding, Idaho. While attending high school she worked in the local bank. She married Everett E. Bell on Nov. 11, 1943. A couple weeks later, Everett left to serve in the Army Air Corp. After finishing high school, Lois joined Everett in Galveston, TX and Grand Island, Nebraska. When he shipped overseas, Lois returned to Gooding, where Everett joined her after the war. They worked together in their auto service business until 1961, when they moved to Boise. Lois worked in Boise banks, kept the books for Everett's gas station and coin-op car washes, while being a loving Mother and seamstress. They retired in 1975 and travelled to Arizona during the winter. They built a cabin on Mill Creek in Idaho in 1976. After Everett's death in 1988, Lois sold her home in Yuma, and moved to Meridian. Lois volunteered at the Assistance League Thrift Store and enjoyed creating quilted "masterpieces "at her sewing machine. In 2006, Lois moved to Kuna. She enjoyed living in the country again, especially the baby calves and colts in the Spring. Lois was a member of the United Methodist Church and P.E.O. Chapter AY. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (Von) Taysom of Kuna and Thelma (Bill) Bryson of Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; sister Ella and brother Frank as well as her parents, Ray and Letty Stone. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made in Lois's name to Harrison's Hope Foundation, Meridian, ID (www.Harrisonshope.com) or the charity of your choice.
