Obituary of Lynn Howell
Lynn Howell, 73, of Meridian, ID, passed away on September 7, 2023. Lynn was born on August 24, 1950, in Prairie City, OR, to the late Arden and Iris Howell. Lynn's kind and caring nature touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Lynn spent the majority of his career as a bartender, working in Reno, Jackpot, and Boise. From 1982 to 1999, he worked at Tenth Street Station in Boise before purchasing the iconic downtown bar with his wife, Carol, from the original owner, Jack White. Lynn sold the bar in 2013 with plans to semi-retire. He then worked as a driver for an auto parts store in Meridian for three years and concluded his career as a driver for Dealers Auto Auction in Nampa.
In his free time, Lynn enjoyed various hobbies, including golfing, fishing, bowling, and following sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys, Boise State Broncos, and the Atlanta Braves. He was also the founder of one of Boise's oldest fantasy football leagues, which he started 31 years ago. Lynn cherished traveling with his wife, spending time with family, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Lynn is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Howell, and their children: Nicole (Mike) Tuttle, Daniel (Candace) Denato, Jason Query, Corky Carpenter, Kari (Mick) Jones, and Kelly Carpenter. He is also survived by his siblings: George (Bobbe) Howell and John (Nickoal) Howell. Lynn will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Kyrstyn Molenaar, Kaiden and Ethan Tuttle, Kolbee and Peyton Denato, Corbin Blankenship, Ashlee Nixon, Gage Jones, Kyle and Taylor Carpenter, as well as his great-grandchildren: Lilah and Violet Johnson, Ezra Molenaar, Rowan Carpenter, Chloe, Roddy, and Alyea Nixon. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Mayson Johnson.
Visitation and Services will be held at Summer's Funeral Home, 3629 E. Ustick Rd., Meridian, ID 83646. Visitation/Viewing will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by Services on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the Services at The Buffalo Club, 10206 W. Fairview Ave., Boise, ID. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Cemetery.
