Linda Anne Snellings Hansen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, while celebrating her 80th birthday on January 1, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Linda was born in the town of Pasadena, California in 1943. Out of five children, she was the middle child of Burnadine Rittgers. She and her family moved throughout California and Washington, and she ended up attending over thirty different schools which was excellent practice for becoming a military wife after graduating high school in 1960. She met her dashing Marine, Enoch Hansen, and the two happily married in 1962.
She became a loving stepmom to his three children, Carl, Marilyn, and Scott and together, they added two more children, Lisa, and Charles, to the family. She threw her time and energy into being the best mother she could. Her signature humongous chocolate chip cookies will be remembered fondly by all her children.
Once the children were older, Linda focused on her professional life, working her way up from cashier to assistant manager at Ultimate Temptation. She adored her position because it allowed her to talk with all kinds of people and brighten their days with the candy and novelty items the store offered. After the store closed, Linda was a phenomenal assistant to her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa, and Russ, working the front desk of their tanning salon. Her final job before retiring had her visiting different stores in Idaho and Oregon to reorganize greeting card sections.
This reignited her love for travel, so she and Enoch spent their winter months snow birding down to Wellton, Arizona. There they made lifelong friendships and spent their days exploring Mexican markets, being social butterflies, and winning countless bingo games. When she was not traveling, she loved to spend her time reading, bowling, and playing with her grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother Burnadine, sisters Irene and Marie, brother Lee, and granddaughter Molly. Linda is survived by her husband, Enoch; two children, Lisa, and Charles; three stepchildren, Carl, Marilyn, and Scott; nine grandchildren, Jake, Brent, Nicole, Tyler, Courtney, Kayla, Dakota, Brianna, and Gracie; and her beloved sister, Melody.
Her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the love and care shown by St. Luke’s hospice, especially from Jenny, Patty, Tami, and Megan. Linda’s funeral service will be held at Summers Funeral home in Meridian, Idaho on January 19th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Flowers may be sent, or donations may be made in her name to Make-A-Wish of Idaho: https://wish.org/idaho
