Evonne Davis

Obituary of Evonne Davis

Evonne Davis, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and beloved friend passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 75 in Boise, Idaho.  Evonne was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 12, 1946, to parents, Burel John Littlefield and Beth Bennion Littlefield. Evonne cherished her loving relationships with siblings James, Raymond, and Suzanne. The family moved to Boise, Idaho when Evonne was in the 4th grade. She graduated from Borah High School in 1965 and continued her secondary education at Idaho State University where she completed a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

Evonne married and in time, raised her two daughters, Jennifer Rae and Leslie Beth.  The bond she shared with her children was exceptional. She has 5 grandchildren, Chandler, Caleb, Cody, Laynie, Vivian, and great grandchild, Harlow, with a second great grandson on the way.  She loved having her little helpers in the kitchen to make white chocolate covered pretzels and her famous raspberry freezer jam.  She enjoyed having lunch dates and birthday breakfasts with her older grandchildren.  Some of Evonne’s fondest memories were spent with her children and grandchildren. Her loving spirit, kindness and warm hugs will be profoundly missed.

After graduating college, Evonne started her career at Morrison Knudsen as a secretary for almost 20 years.  She then worked as an Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for Trus Joist Weyerhaeuser, until she retired.  She always commented on how much she enjoyed going to work and fostering collegial relationships with supervisors and coworkers alike.  Some of Evonne’s greatest and lifelong friends were met through her work at Morrison Knudsen and Trus Joist.  Evonne’s sense of humor and love for others was contagious and will be greatly missed by those who were lucky to know her.

She was full of fun and enjoyed taking trips with family and friends to the Oregon Coast, Idaho mountains, and Jackpot.  Evonne was well-known for her daily routines, beginning with her favorite coffee while writing her daily list of “To-Do’s”.  At the top of her list always included a fun word game with her sister, Sue. They would frequently talk about what books she was enjoying and was going to read next.

Evonne had such a great impact on so many people’s lives. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. She will be deeply missed by all.

A celebration of her life will be held at Summers Funeral Home at 11am, with graveside services at 1pm at Morris Hill Cemetery on February 23, 2022.
