In 1950, she married her childhood sweetheart, John Joseph Jestadt. Upon John’s graduation from medical school in Canada, they moved to Gackle, North Dakota. It was a town of 600. That was a big step for a city girl. That was the first of many moves throughout the United States. She especially loved living in Boise and Ketchum, Idaho.

She said that is she had a bucket list; it would never come close to what her life was like. She traveled to seventeen countries, and loved entertaining, friendships, and family.

She is survived by her children; Robert Jestadt (Anne), Audrey Hays, Mary Jo Austin (Sean Timoney), and Mark Jestadt; four grand-children and four great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were brothers Frank Scherer and Nickolas Scherer of Canada.

“I look back at my life and think- That was Fantastic!”
