Obituary of Vincent A Rosa Jr.

Vincent (Vinny) passed away at a loving home at Amber Lane at the age of 86.  He will be missed by his children, Anita (Mike) Bokan, Vince, and Toni.  He leaves 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Chelsea (Matt) Rauh, Michael, Megan, Zach, Alec, Bryce and Carly, and 1 great-granddaughter, Maia.  He has a sister, Virginia (Bruce) Wallace, niece, Cindi (Joe) and nephew John (Julie).  He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan, his daughter Elizabeth, his parents Vincent & Carmela, and his brother, Richard.

Vinny was born and raised in the Bronx until he joined the Navy.  After serving for 4 years in the Korean War, he returned to find the true love of his life, Joan, and together they lovingly raised 4 children.  After many years running a small business back on the East coast, Vinny’s love for new challenges led him and Joan to relocate the family cross country and for a new adventure and next phase of life in Colorado.  His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start a restaurant, while also taking time to enjoy the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  His retirement life was spent with Joan in Southern California at a 55+ community.  For Vinny, it was his playground with tennis, pickle ball, hiking, sailing, drawing, dancing and performing among his favorites.  He was a creative man, and a showman at heart.  He enjoyed the beautiful things in life and always enjoyed people, whether offering a compliment, performing on stage or simply providing guidance and support when needed.  He had a heart of gold with a twinkle in his eye.

The family would like to thank Amber Lane and their caregivers for giving Vinny the gift of caring for him this last year of his life.  First Choice Hospice was also a wonderful help when Vinny needed it most. A funeral mass will be held at St. John The Evangelist on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 11:30AM.
