Rebecca Kunst

Obituary of Rebecca Rae Jacob Kunst

It is with deep sadness that we say farewell to our sweet Rebecca (Becky).

She passed peacefully on Sunday, October 17th with her family by her side.

Becky enjoyed growing up with her mom and sisters in Boise, Idaho which left many fond memories including kickball, swimming at Borah pool and attending church camps.

Becky loved the military and felt a calling to serve her country. She volunteered for service in the United States Army at age 21 and served for 20 years. She proudly retired as Sergeant First Class while serving as the State Assistant Inspector General with JFHQ, Idaho, 2011.

Becky served as a contractor for the Idaho Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), leading a great group of volunteers to work with Idaho employers. She remained humble, kind and never lost her sense of humor.

During her time in the military, she married and had her son, Taylor – her proudest accomplishment. Becky left Taylor with many gifts; a set of strong values that will serve him well. Taylor and Becky were blessed with 19 years together and shared a special bond, one only shared between a mother and her son.

Becky’s pets were very comforting to her. She cared deeply for them. Becky survived by her son, Taylor Jacob: four sisters, Corless Peterson, Linda Hess, Marcey Angeles and Kathy Corless; three brothers, Ron, Aubrey, and Terry Buchanan.

A ‘Celebration of Rebecca’s Life’ will be held on Saturday, October 30th, 1 pm, The Salvation Army Corps chapel in Boise, followed by a gathering at Idaho Pizza Company, 6724 N. Glenwood St, Boise, 83714.

Memorial donations may be made in Becky’s name to Simply Cats, Boise.
