Jeannie Agema

Obituary of Jeannie Agema

It is with great sadness that the family of Jean “Jeannie” Agema (North) announce her passing on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the age of 62.

Jeannie will be greatly missed by her husband of 40 years, Dan; three children: Deserae (Vinnie), Danielle (Anthony), and Ryan (Casey); seven grandchildren: Luke, Lakota, Liam, Brooklyn, Leanna, Hudson and Maverick; siblings: Charri, Terry, Candi, Joey, Regina and Janice, as well as numerous family members and friends.

Jeannie was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Norma Jean; and siblings, Bob and Ricky.

Jeannie was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 13, 1959. She was the second oldest child of six, and loved taking care of her siblings. After high school, she worked with young children at the local Head Start. She met the love of her life and best friend, Dan, in October 1978, when he came to her front door to share the Word of God. They were married on June 15, 1981 in Jeannie’s mom’s backyard. After their first year of marriage, they embarked on a new adventure together, converting a school bus and living in it down by the lake in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.

Dan and Jeannie welcomed their first child, Deserae, in March 1984, two days after Jeannie’s 25th birthday. Jeannie gave birth to their second daughter, Danielle, in September 1986. Their baby boy, Ryan, was born in December 1989, completing their family.

Jeannie was a dedicated wife and mother. She devoted her life to her family, staying home with her children for much of their younger years. She started her own business in the healthcare industry in 2007, and sold the business in 2019 to devote more time to the people and endeavors she loved.

She was a woman of many talents who enjoyed sewing, painting, and making a variety of crafts. She even made a business venture out of it. Her crafts and her grandchildren became her life’s greatest pleasures. She loved doing anything with family, and found joy in family vacations, especially if she had the opportunity to go fishing. She loved playing Yahtzee and card games, particularly Rummy, watching Lifetime movies, and eating tuna fish sandwiches and anything with Ranch dressing. She enjoyed braiding her daughters’ and granddaughters’ hair, going to her grandchildren’s sports games and recitals, and sharing her love of art with them.

Everyone who knew Jeannie was blessed by her selfless heart and her unfailing wisdom. She was a generous woman with a gentle soul and unwavering love for God.  She was genuine in her relationships and made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world to her.  She loved to laugh and her smile lit up the room. Her light and her love will be deeply missed. We have the Hope of Jesus Christ’s return, when we will be together again.
