Obituary of Treva Jean Williams

 

Treva Jean, 86 passed away September 7 of natural causes at her son's home in Kuna.

She was born March 3,1934 in Salem, ldaho to Chester and Bertha Harris the last of eight children. At a very young age, her family moved to Wilder, Idaho where she grew up on a farm with her 5 older brothers and 2 sisters. She took on about every farm chore plus worked in the fields. She had a love of animals her entire life, including a special dog and horse she had as a child. She had a love of wolves, which she thought were so beautiful. Treva and her sister, Mary, and Betty would sing in three part harmony which everyone enjoyed. In high school, she was an excellent student, a tennis player, a cheerleader and catcher on the softball team. She graduated from Wilder HS in 1951.

She always loved sports and was the biggest fan of Boise High's football team when her son played. In her later years, she enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially football, Boise State and her favorite Green Bay Packers,

Treva always had a love of music,. She played the violin, guitar and banjo. She liked Elvis and Willie Nelson and always supportive of her son's bands. Another love of hers was Star Trek! She was a true trekie and over the years accumulated an amazing collection of action figures and anything Star Trek.

While working at a drugstore in Boise, she met Darrell Rasmussen. They were both excellent dancers and enjoyed dancing together. On Feb 14, 1959, they were married in Boise Idaho. In 1961, their son Rarig was born. Work took the family to Cheyenne, Wyoming, Salt Lake City and back to Boise. Treva loved aviation as did her entire family. She decided she wanted to parachute out of a plane after training, the day came and with many people there to watch, Darrell was afraid and wouldn't let her! She worked at Sears credit Dept. for some years &  all that worked with her loved her.

She will be remembered as a selfless person, always serving, always smiling. She was adored by everyone, and will be greatly missed.

Treva is survived by her son Rarig Rasmussen (Dyrissa) of Kuna, two grandsons Coltyne and Braydon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings.
