Obituary of Loberta Bell Sherrill Jones

Loberta Bell Sherrill Jones, 91 of Boise, Idaho beloved Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister passed away Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Grace Assisted Living Memory Care of natural causes.  She left this world surrounded by her loving family and will be deeply missed.

Loberta, “Bertie” was born in Banks, Idaho on May 2, 1928 and was greeted by a family of 2 brothers and 4 sisters with two more brothers joining later.  The Sherrill family was a family that lived and loved the out of doors and spent much time in the beautiful mountains of Idaho.

On September 8, 1946 Bertie married the love of her life, Del Jones, a love that lasted 59 years until his passing in 2005.  In the early days of their marriage, she worked at the Cash Bazaar in downtown Boise until the birth of her children, Rodney, Steven and Linda.

Mom loved working with her hands and created beautiful afghans and delicate lacework doilies and pillowcase trim.  She also embroidered exquisite designs on her tablecloths and pillowcases.  She has won awards at the Western Idaho State Fair for her beautiful afghans and one of them was included in a traveling display.

Mom also loved to laugh and tell a joke.  Her care givers all mentioned how they enjoyed being with her because she made them laugh with her funny sense of humor.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert D Jones, her parents and 7 of her siblings.  She leaves behind a sister, Vickie of Hayden Lake, her children, Rod (Sandi) of Meridian, Steve (Pat) of Boise and Linda of Caldwell plus 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Grace Assisted Living Memory Care for providing such wonderful, loving care of our mom.
