Obituary of Hazel Sullivan
Hazel Sullivan passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the age of 94.
Hazel was born in Naponee, Nebraska, moving to Idaho as a teenager, where she graduated from Parma High School. After graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado to live with her sister.
There she met the love of her life, Frederick “Bud” Sullivan. Following the birth of their first child they moved to Idaho, where their family eventually increased with the addition of five more children.
Tragically Bud was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1970 leaving her to raise their younger children as a single parent.
Hazel was passionate about Labor Union concerns, was politically active and strongly supported a democratic society. She worked for St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store for many years and was an enthusiastic volunteer as well, contributing many hours of her time for worthwhile causes.
She was recognized for her service by receiving the local Jefferson Foundation Award in 2007.
Hazel will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children and their families, Theresa (Wayne) Larsen, Marla Abbott, Sydney (Steve) Wilson, Daniel Sullivan, John Sullivan and Shawn (Adam) Collins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 31, at 1:00 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W. Bannock Street, Boise, ID 83702.
