Phoenix Fullington 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 17, 2018. Phoenix (Junior) was born August 4, 1927, in Price, Utah, to Phoenix Sr. and Reva Fullington. He was oldest son of 7 children. The family moved to Burley, Idaho where Phoenix Sr. died suddenly shortly after the move. Phoenix joined the Navy in August 1943, shortly after his 16th Birthday. After Basic training he went to Farragut Naval Training station, where he was assigned to the amphibious fleet unit and stationed on #7 Landing Ship Dock in the South Pacific. He had many positions, 20 MM Anti-Aircraft Gunner, Cargo Handler and Mechanic. He was proud to serve his country as a WWll veteran and earned many medals. In 2013 he was invited and able to attend the Honor Flight back to Washington, DC. When he was discharged he returned to Burley, Idaho and met the love of his life, Maxine Trebilcock they had two daughters, Cheryl and Patricia. They were married for 62 years until Maxine’s death in 2009. The family moved to Boise in 1955 where he resided until his death. Phoenix was in the meat cutting business for over 38 years until his health required him to retire at age 55. However he always had a good work ethic and couldn't sit still for very long. He always had at least 2 or more part time jobs at the same time. One he had for many years was driving the school bus after he worked 8 hours at the packing plant. After he retired and recovered from his heart surgery he had various jobs one was driving trucks for LB Leasing, he kept his CDL license until he stopped driving at 89 years old. He started his own shrub trimming business and worked until he was 70 years old. In 1962 when he was 38 years old he taught himself to play the guitar and joined the Old Time Fiddlers Association. He remained playing and singing until his death. Phoenix and Maxine loved being in the Old Time Fiddlers, which was a big part of their lives. The music took them places where they met many friends. They held several positions in the Old Time Fiddlers over the years and encouraged many people to join. Phoenix and Maxine enjoyed winters in Arizona and sharing their love for music. Phoenix loved the outdoors and taking his family camping, fishing and left wonderful memories. He taught both his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren how to fish. He made sure his family took vacations every summer even if it was only to the mountains. He loved fishing on his boat and would go whenever it was possible. Phoenix went fishing on his 80th birthday and a few times after that. He always had big gardens and a beautiful yard. Phoenix and Maxine were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2003. They loved the Lord, their church and served many callings. Phoenix was ordained as High Priest in 2010. He loved his family and never missed a birthday even after Maxine passed. Phoenix was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, daughter Cheryl, Both parents, sisters Betty, Viola, brother Edward. Survived by his daughter Patricia Sharp, Sherin Sanders, Grandchildren Jodie, (Shane Davila), Brian (Michelle Sharp), Derick Robertson, Rheanon Hudson, Barby, Michelle. Great-Grandchildren, Jessica, Mason, Hailey, Garrett, Hunter, Jennifer, Marlen, Great Great Grandson, Cody, Sister Lois Farwell, Marva Allen, Tom Hull, son-in-law,  Dave Robertson, many nieces and nephews. The Family would like to thank Keystone Hospice, Garnet Place, the VA, and the DAV for taking good care of our Dad the past year. Viewing will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5 – 7 p.m at Summers Funeral Chapel Boise, 1205 W. Bannock, Boise, ID 83702. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 25, 2018 10:00 a.m at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5900 W. Castle Dr., Boise, ID 83703. Graveside Service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
