Obituary for Ralph Baldrica

Ralph Baldrica
Ralph F. Baldrica was born November 30, 1924 to Oresti and Mary (Tramontin) Baldrica in Chisholm, Minnesota. He died peacefully May 5, 2017 in Boise, Idaho.
Ralph attended school in Chisholm where he was active in band and orchestra. He started at Hibbing JC until he was drafted into military service in 1943. He received an honorable discharge in 1946. During his service, he spent time at various bases in the U.S., with his last posting as a turret gunnery instructor at Gowen Field, Idaho. After his discharge, he returned to Minnesota and graduated from St. Cloud State Teachers College.
Ralph married Frances Tomsich in 1947 in Chisholm, Minnesota. They moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1952 where he taught English and Speech at Meridian High School for one year. His summer job at Intermountain Food Equipment Company resulted in over 30 years in the restaurant supply business, eventually retiring from Bargreen Ellingson.
After retirement, Ralph and Fran enjoyed traveling. They managed to visit all 50 states. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boise. He taught CCD and was one of the first lay lectors. Ralph was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 899, DeSmet Assembly 181 which he joined in 1959. He became a Fourth Degree Knight in 1961.
Ralph was an avid reader, eventually enjoying books on tape. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister-in-law, and wife of 68 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Baldrica, nieces, nephews, and his children: Gail (Bob) Johnson, Mary Kay (Dave) Molitor, Anne Baldrica, and Dick (Jeannie) Baldrica. Nine grandchildren: Katy Johnson, Anita & Mark Baccay, Angelina & Adam Burk, Jeffrey & Taryn Molitor, Anthony & Allison Molitor, Sophie & Sean Dardis, Veronica & Tomás Wheaton, Brent & Mary Baldrica, Miranda Baldrica. Seven great-grandchildren: Summer and Aurora Baccay; Camryn, Easton and Tenly Molitor; Gwyneth and Noelle Molitor.
There will be a Rosary at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Sacred Heart Church, Boise. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following Mass.
Ralph will be buried at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
