Obituary for Edna Harvey

Edna Harvey
Edna I. Patterson Harvey has went to be with our maker on April 2, 2017. Idaho has lost another one of its pioneers. Born in Gooding, Idaho Dec 1915 to Almond and Lola Laws. Moving to VanWick as a young girl when her Dad transferred to run the fish hatchery. Helping her Dad in the hatchery and picking berries with her Mom on West Mt. while her Dad transported young fish in box’s on mules to lakes on the Mt. Mom used to say that Idaho was pretty wild in those days. This is the Valley where she met our Dad, Sollie Patterson, they married in Cascade July 1, 1934. Living in a small cabin where the three older children were born, Anna June, Charles and Floyd while Dad made a living logging. Deciding to move to the Boise Valley and settling in Eagle on a small farm where the younger three children were born Doug, Denny and Susie. Having lost Dad when he was still a young man, Mom raised the younger children and ran the farm. Mom loved to fish and take a pull on the slot machines once in a while. She had a good view on life, always glad to see her family stop by and visit. Mom will be greatly missed by her family, but she’s in a good place with our Dad and the other family members that have passed.
Children living; Doug, Denny (Heidi), Susie (Cal) Low. I’d like to give a special thanks to our sister in law Heidi for all the much appreciated help.
Special thanks to Grandchildren; Mike (Lynn) Thompson, Kelly (Bill) Humphreys, Holly (Myron) Sharp for being there for Granny and Riva (Mike)Tisdale
Edna is also survived by many Great Grand Children, and Great Great Grandchildren. I think there’s another Great in there somewhere and she loved you all.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.summersfuneral.com.
